Foxconn reportedly is considering an investment of USD12 billion to build a new facility in Brazil. Moreover, the news that mentions Foxconn will begin to build a factory to produce iPad in South America in November.
President of Brazil, Dilma Rousseff, says Foxconn considering USD12 billion commitment to new facilities in the country. Rousseff said during a visit to Beijing that the Brazilian government is reviewing the proposed plan Foxconn
Separately, Brazil's Minister of Technology also said that Foxconn is planning to launch Apple iPad assembly at the factory in Brazil in late November. Assembly seems to take place at existing facilities, and will not be part of the proposed investment.
But because Apple is a major partner of Foxconn, every investment of Foxconn in Brazil is likely to have a future impact on the assembly line of Apple products. So that was reported by Bloomberg, on Wednesday (04/13/2011).
Besides Apple, Foxconn also manufactures devices for a variety of technology vendors. These include Hewlett Packard and Dell.
