Online retail giant gave a new version of the Kindle is worth up to USD143 USD31, or USD25 to USD114 cheaper than the Kindle at the lowest price on the market today. Kindle cheaper version of this will include ads at the bottom of the home page and screen savers.
Despite often lower prices since its first release with the price of USD399 in 2007, this is the first time to do it while Kindle include ads on their devices.
According to Director of Marine Jay Kindle, Kindle launch low-cost version of this is their strategy to ensure more people can enjoy the device. Not only that, this strategy also shows the aggressiveness of Amazon in an attempt to fight the market that is increasingly dominated by the presence of tablet PCs.
Some customers may not be pleased that their eBook devices display the ad. But the Navy believes it is worth the amount of savings they are doing. "We think customers will like it,"said Marine confident.
