The leadership has asked the Minister of Culture, Imad Abu Ghazi, to officially invite Mark Zuckerberg, after he expressed his pride that he created a site that is used as a tool of freedom by those who are oppressed. Similarly, as quoted by Business Line, Monday (18/04/2011).
"Youth in Egypt using Facebook as a way to find the momentum to the revolution against the regime which has ruled for more than 30 years," said Sheriff al-Labban, communication professor from Cairo University.
"The value of Facebook is also increased by approximately 50 percent after the revolution in Egypt happened," he added.
The protests against the Mubarak regime in Egypt began in January 2011. The process of organizing these protests took great advantage of internet social media like Facebook.
On February 11, Egyptian President Mubarak to resign. Then on February 13, the whole range of constitutional and parliamentary under Mubarak also dissolved.
