ROME - AS Roma had to nominate a replacement for defender Phillipe Mexes their mainstay. The name that is on top of the player is VfL Wolfsburg, Simon Kjaer.
Last week, Mexes had confirmed would leave after seven years of defending the Giallorossi. Most likely the French players will choose to join AC Milan.
Had distraught to hear that assurance, now Rome's management has begun to quietly tried to make the step forward. They are trying to trace qualified talent to fill the gap left by Mexes.
Some names such as Diego Lugano and Luisao had become a candidate, but as Il Corriere della Sera on Tuesday (4/12/2011) recently stated that Kjaer was the most desired by the club made by Vincenzo Montella.
Strong reasons 'Capital Wolves' attracted the services of players from Denmark because of his age who had just 22 years. In addition, Kjaer is also considered to be quite familiar with the style of play in Italy because of previous reinforce Palermo.
