Benghazi - Libyan leader Moammar Gaddafi reportedly received cease-fire initiatives driven by the African Union, but it rejected the Libyan opposition. Opposition assess Gaddafi must come down, a matter which was considered ridiculous by the son of Gaddafi.

"We do need new blood, this is needed for the future of the country. But ask the guide (Gaddafi) to go down, it is ridiculous," said Seif al-Islam Gaddafi told AFP on Tuesday (04/12/2011).

"Gaddafi does not want to control everything. He had entered old age. We want to bring new young elite to lead the country and take care of local affairs," said Seif.

Previous Gaddafi who has ruled for four decades in Libya, reportedly has received a map of peace proposed by the African Union.
The proposal requires an ongoing cease-fire, humanitarian aid and to seek to increase dialogue between two opposing factions.

But the opposition rejected the proposal, and insisted Gaddafi must come down from his post. It is also expressed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United States (U.S.) Hillary Clinton.

According to him, Gaddafi urged the U.S. government still down and leave Libya as part of a peaceful transition that occurred in his country. But Clinton refused to comment on the peace proposal put forward by the African Union.
