CALIFORNIA - Apple is rumored to have been 'hijacked' two public relations executive from game giant Nintendo and Activision to ensure IOS position as the dominant gaming platform.
MCV reports that Nintendo UK head of communications Robert Saunders would leave the company to fill a new position at Apple. "
Saunders, who has worked for seven years and also play a role in the success of Nintendo Wii and DS, allegedly will focus on dealing with applications iPad, iPod and iPhone. Similarly, as reported by Apple Insider, Sunday (04/10/2011).
Not only Saunders, MCV also reported that Apple has successfully lobbied the Activision PR director of the division of Europe, Nick Grange. As well as Saunders, Grange's role in Apple is also still a rumor. However, a number of parties indicated that the Grange will be responsible for handling hardware iPad.
Apple is often closer to game developers from leading companies to ensure the dominance of the company as one of the mobile gaming platform. In 2009, Apple has posted job openings for players with AAA certification for game development.
Last year, Apple also hired IGN editor Matt CAsamassina as global editorial manager for App Store games.
This strategy seems quite successful for Apple. Based on a report in December 2010 and then, mastering smartphone mobile games market with the achievement of 43.8 percent. While the number of games played on the Nintendo DS and Sony PlayStation has decreased as much as 13 percent.
