Fukushima Nuclear Reactor Still Safe

The Japanese government declared the Nuclear Power Plant in Fukushima are safe following a 7.4 Richter magnitude earthquake that shook the territorial waters of Miyagi.

"Nuclear reactors Fukushima Dai-ichi is still safe, but we do not know if the workers have been evacuated," said one Japanese nuclear safety officials, as quoted by AP on Thursday (07/04/2011).

Japan's Meteorological Agency has issued a warning before the tsunami as high as two meters to the east coastal areas of Japan.

This warning is given to residents who live in a radius of 300 miles from the coast of Aomori Prefecture in northern Ibaraki Prefecture in the region until the middle of Japan. The Japanese government instructed the citizens who reside in coastal areas to immediately evacuate to high ground and away from the beach.
