Eastern coastal region of Japan is currently in post-tsunami alert earthquake measuring 7.4 on the Richter scale (SR), which centered 40 kilometers below sea level.
The quake's epicenter was in 100 kilometers of territory 140 kilometers from Sendai and Fukushima. Japan's Meteorological Agency as quoted by AP on Thursday (04/07/2011), warned of the possibility of a tsunami as high as two meters.
This warning is intended for residents in eastern areas of Japan which swept the tsunami on 11 March.
The Japanese government declared the earthquake caused strong shaking for approximately one minute in Tokyo, a distance of 345 kilometers from the epicenter.
While in Ichinoseki, hard to shake the building but caused no damage. Immediately after the quake struck, the electricity turned off, so the situation completely dark.
U.S. Geological Survey recorded an earthquake measuring 7.4 magnitude centered at 100 kilometers from Sendai, 140 kilometers from the Fukushima, and 345 kilometers from Tokyo at a depth of 40 kilometers below sea level. Post a massive earthquake measuring 9.0 magnitude on March 11, then indeed there have been numerous aftershocks. But the scale is nothing more than SR 7.0.
