Radioactive Contaminated spinach in China

BEIJING - Chinese authorities to detect low-level radiation from Japanese nuclear power plant in spinach, but the level of contamination detected was not harmful to health.
China's Health Ministry issued a statement on Wednesday, April 6 nights. Experiments performed on the vegetables that come from outside Beijing, the northern city of Tianjin and the central province of Henan find any radioactive iodine-131.
 
Ministry of Health states that occur rain lately cause radioactive particles accumulate in the leaves of spinach. It is said, washing the spinach with water can effectively remove radioactive materials. Thus was launched AFP on Thursday (04/07/2011).

The finding is the first report of radiation-contaminated domestic product since the Chinese government ordered the inspection of food and water from Japan.
